Voluma is a hyaluronic filler that uses patented Vycross technology exclusive to Allergan. This new technology makes Juvederm Voluma less hydrophilic (or water attracting) than other fillers, meaning that patients will experience less swelling than they would with competitors like Restylane.
How does Juvederm Voluma work?
It is primarily used to add volume to lips and cheeks.
What are its main uses?
Voluma is made with the intention to be used to add volume to lips and cheeks, smooth away unwanted lines and wrinkles and rejuvenate and add volume to natural facial contours which have been worn away with age. This product is intended mainly for restoring lost volume in cheeks and lips, and features Vycross technology.
What are the side effects of Juvederm Voluma?
Treatment with Juvederm Voluma shows immediate results, with little side effects. If side effects are seen, they are temporary and quite mild. Injection site related side effects may be: redness, itching, swelling, numbing, firmness or bumps, and you may experience some unpleasant aches and pains for a few hours after treatment. If these side effects do not subside completely within a few hours, as advised, get in contact with your doctor immediately
What should I expect upon using Juvederm Voluma?
You will notice immediate results, including the addition of volume to desired portions of the face, smoother skin, a reduction of wrinkles and lines, better hydrated skin and overall skin restoration. After finishing the procedure, most patients experience minimal side effects and almost no downtime.
What is the average treatment cost?
Consult with your doctor about treatment costs, which will vary based on your doctor and region.
When will I see results?
You should see results immediately after treatment, as HA based fillers work immediately to restore lost facial volume. These effects will continue to get better as the filler binds with the water molecules within your skin, for smoothing, addition of volume to cheeks and lips, reduction of lines and wrinkles and restoration of youth.
How long do results last?
Juvederm Voluma and other Juvederm product are among the longest lasting dermal fillers on the market, offering 2-year results.
Does the treatment hurt?
The treatment generally lasts between 15 to 60 minutes for best results, and is meant to be as comfortable as possible. For your increased comfort, Voluma contains numbing agent lidocaine to prevent unpleasant sensation during treatment.
Can I do it myself?
Our company requires a medical licence before any purchase, and does not sell to the general public. We never endorse any self-treatment, as any cosmetic or medical procedure completed by an unlicensed, inexperienced professional can result in permanent damage, scarring or even death. Always consult with a licenced medical professional before any cosmetic treatment.
Is the product safe?
Patented Vycross technology makes Juvederm Voluma less hydrophilic than other fillers, allowing for less swelling and side-effects post procedure. Juvederm products are safe, thoroughly tested and approved for use in Canada and the USA by the FDA. Like most HA-based dermal fillers this product is not recommended for people with severe allergies with a history of anaphylaxis, multiple severe allergies, allergies to hyaluronic acid or other filler products, or allergies to lidocaine or other local anaesthetics, a history of autoimmune disease, recurrent sore throats, rheumatic fever, epilepsy, or porphyria.
